It's getting hot in here...
Magic Mike's Last Dance topped the box office for its opening weekend by earning $18 million worldwide. So, it looks like fans all around the world are still fixated on Channing Tatum's sexy body since the first Magic Mike in 2012.
The third and final film from the popular franchise follows Mike as he travels to London for one final dance. However, Tatum's titular character isn't the only role that will have audience members glued to the screen. Many of the performers from Magic Mike Live in Las Vegas also star in the film, including out dancer Sebastian Gonzalez.
"Magic Mike has been a big part of my career. I started in 2017. The entire experience was surreal," Gonzalez tells Out Traveler.
Without spoiling too much, the entire plot of Magic Mike's Last Dance perfectly sets up the storyline that fans get to enjoy watching the live show. Whether it's in Vegas, London, or the North American tour now performing in Miami, audience members are brought straight into Mike's world.
"We found out that [Last Dance] was a fictional origin story of how the [live] show came to be and that made it even more special," Gonzalez says.
Magic Mike Live has typically been marketed to women looking for a sexy night out, but as a gay man himself, Gonzalez assures that the LGBTQ+ community and allies are more than welcome to enjoy the show.
"We're open to everybody. Everybody's welcome. The film and the show is very directed towards women and female empowerment, but I think it's a message of love and acceptance of our bodies and of our sensualities. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter what you look like. I'm very proud of being gay and I'm also very proud of the message that I take... whether the spectators are female, straight, gay... we're all wrapped in that inclusive message. We all want to feel sexy and comfortable in our own skin."
